What you need to make a Mickey Mouse Tie Dye Shirt
1. Plain white shirt
2. Plain Dental Floss
3. Needle
4. Rubber Bands
5. Plastic Wrap
6. Mickey Head shape, we used the Cricut 29-0001 Personal Electronic Cutting Machine with the Cricut Disney Cartridge, Mickey Font to create our tracer
7. Soda Ash (we used Tulip One Step Dye Soda Ash) this is optional
8. Tye Dye Kit (we used Tulip One-Step Tie Dye Kit)
Directions:
Step 1: Trace Mickey head onto center of shirt with a pencil
Step 2: Sew outline of shape with plain dental floss
Step 3: Soak Shirt in Soda ash (optional)
Step 4: Pull the end of the dental floss, so that the fabric bunches up and the Mickey head pops up
Step 5: Tightly wrap rubber bands just below the Mickey head
Step 6: Twist shirt like a snake and rubber band in sections
Step 7: Die the Mickey Head part of the shirt and wrap tightly with plastic wrap so that the dye from the rest of the shirt does not soak into the head part.
Step 8: Tie Dye rest of shirt according to directions on box. Wrap in Plastic wrap when done.
Step 9: Leave overnight
Step 10: Unwrap and marvel at your design
